Banterpacks pulls up the diff for build-overlay.mjs. One character changed. A single dot added.

"Look at this line. path.resolve(__dirname, '..') became path.resolve(__dirname, '../..'). One slash and two dots. That's the entire fix. The build script was resolving to scripts/ instead of the repo root, which means it was looking for scripts/overlay/ instead of overlay/. Every overlay build would have failed silently or crashed.

Here's the craft insight: when you move a file, you don't just move the file. You move every assumption that file made about where it lives. __dirname didn't change — the file's contents are identical in that regard — but the meaning of __dirname changed because the file is now one directory deeper.

The path is relative. The breakage is absolute.
